Two volumes from Peter Tinniswood’s ‘Brigadier’ series of comic, cricket-theme novels, both first editions, published in 1983 an 1984 respectively. 174pp; 146pp, with line drawings in text, all by John Lawerence. In cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine. 8vos. Cloth very slightly pushed at corners and spine ends. Hint of spotting on text bock edges and endpapers else internally both volumes are neat, clean, bright and tight. Both in their original illustrated, glossy dust wrappers, price clipped, gently bumped on extreme edges, slightly sunned on the spines.

The Brigadier made his first appearance in the now famous ‘Tales from the Long Room’,
